An image; how many times have you heard that it speaks louder than words? In most cases that’s true, but what happens when it’s not?

When your client sends you an image that they firmly believe is, “Just what we need for the website,” and all you want to say is, “Really?!” What do you do next?

Take a deep breath and say to yourself, “Well it’s your website, whatever.”

Call the client and try not to sound too condescending when questioning their idea of a great image.

Find your trusty Photoshop expert and hope they can do something with it without costing an arm and a leg.

Open Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and hope that you can fix it.

Say under your breath one more time, “Why didn’t they just use a professional photographer, don’t they understand how important this is?”

Actually, the above image was shot by a professional photographer, and I was in the photo shoot. From years of experience, I knew in advance I was going to have to take the background out. Rant time; I’ll never understand why when you use a white backdrop, it comes out gray. Rant over.

This shot was one of many, and they all looked the same. Further, the shots looked great on the display of the camera. It wasn’t until I opened them on my big beautiful 27” display that I saw they looked like they had been out drinking all night.

Did I panic? No, because I know how to use two wonderful tools in Photoshop. With years of experience using the Polygonal Lasso and the Transform Skew Tools I knew I could fix them without a problem. These tools are also found in Photoshop Elements.
